Luxor Temple

The set of Luxor - Karnak temples forms one of the most impressive complex of Ancient Egypt. They are separated by about three kilometers and an avenue of sphinxes joined them. Thebes was the capital of Egypt in the heyday of the empire. The main temples were Luxor and Karnak. The Great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak Temple is an architectural wonder. It is a huge forest of columns in which the visitor can "lose" and one of the images of Ancient Egypt most played.

The temple is adjacent to but not in the Valley of the Kings, and is distributed in terraces that fit perfectly into the environment. From a distance you can see the sobriety of the columns and it is a milestone in Egyptian architecture for its beauty and uniqueness.

The current border between Egypt and Sudan is a few meters from the temple.
