Christianity
Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, the Christ, preached the coming of the Kingdom of God. He puts love for God and neighbor above all other commandments. The fear of the Jewish authorities of the time to his growing influence over the people led him to death on a cross, but rose again to save all men.
The message of Christ spread rapidly throughout the Roman Empire, creating communities mainly in the eastern and especially in large cities among the most disadvantaged social classes. Each community was headed by a bishop and the bishop of Rome and successor of St. Peter is considered superior in rank to other bishops.
It was common for the Roman Empire unload their strength on Christians. So during the third century and early fourth century terrible persecution of Christians who were blamed for the misfortunes of the empire they were lavished.
In 313 religious freedom in the Empire n the year 392 the Emperor Theodosius he decreed declared Christianity as the religion of Roman Empire., Prohibiting other cults
Christ's message has reached our days through the Catholic Church, the Coptic Church, the Protestant Churches the Orthodox Church, and. All of them are known as Christian.
